Primary Duties/Responsibilities
Westfield State University's English Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in creative non-fiction and speech. The successful candidate will contribute to our growing writing concentration and will be responsible for teaching Introduction to Speech and Creative Non-Fiction writing courses, and possibly developing upper-level offerings in speech. Ability to teach composition and core literature classes strongly preferred. Requirements of the position include an MFA in creative non-fiction, experience teaching at the college-level, and significant professional writing and editing experience in daily news or magazine journalism outside of the college classroom. Teaching load is four courses each semester, along with advising and departmental and college service responsibilities.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the finalist has been selected.
