UK Chart: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Pegs Top Spot
38 Studios, comprised in part of owner/chairman and former Major League Baseball pitcher Curt Shilling and executive art director Todd McFarlane, released their first video game to great success this week, as Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning tops the UK All-Format Top 40, dethroning Final Fantasy XIII-2.
The latter falls victim to a 54% drop in sales over last week, but keeps ahead of second-best newcomer The Darkness II, sequel to the 2007 inter-dimension first-person-shooter, but developed by Bioshock 2 developer Digital Extremes.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection falls from second after last week down to fourth with 49% reduction in sales.FIFA 12 tumbles further to fifth place with a sales-dip of 19%.
EA occupies mid-table with Battlefield 3 (-29%) ahead of rival Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (-10%), which sticks to seventh place for the second week in a row. Assassins Creed: Revelations (-28%) and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (-27%) squeeze in at eighth and ninth respectively whilst the newly-released 3DS version ofMario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games racks up a massive 145% sales increase over this week and completes the top ten.
