Phillippe Park « shanaeg1976

I went completely out of comfort zone today and drove to PhillippePark in Safety Harbor. It was a treat. The majority of the park is on the water. It has picnic shelters, a great playground, and the largest native american mound in the Tampa Bay area. Bella had a blast playing on the playground that had multiplebenches and viewing points for parents. Matt and I enjoyed the climbing the mound and learning the history of the Tocobaga Indians.

It was a little bit steep on the way down but it's one end is paved and there are 2 staircases.

I went here because I had never seen the park but had heard a lot about it. I will definitelygo back for a day of fishing/picnicking. After the five dollar a car charge took effect 2 weeks ago at Fort Desoto, I see a lot more families trekking to different parks. I know we will continue to explore them.
